These flowmeters are suitable for particularly large flow ranges and operate according to the calorimetric measurement principle. A heated sensor is cooled by the gas flowing around it. The flow-dependent cooling is used as the measured quantity, with the degree of cooling directly dependent on the mass of gas flowing past. This type of mass flow measurement is independent of pressure and temperature. The device can be used to monitor compressed air lines but, with appropriate calibration, is also suitable for other gases. The display can be rotated by 180°. The integrated totaliser can be reset using the keypad. The pressure loss across the entire device is negligibly small, and measurement is performed without moving parts. In combination with an electromagnetically actuated proportional valve or an air-operated process control valve, decentralised flow control loops up to DN 50 can be implemented on site. Type 8008 is available in two variants: Standard and Heavy Duty (with robust die-cast electronic-modules housing). In the Heavy Duty variant, the sensor is encapsulated in stainless steel.
